Human rights abuses at Canadian-owned mining sites around the world are widespread and well documented. Victims of such abuse have nowhere to turn to seek justice.

Inter Pares has joined with the Canadian Network on Corporate Accountability to urge Canada to create an effective, independent Ombudsman for the Extractive Sector to hold Canadian mining companies to account.

FOUR ACTIONS YOU CAN TAKE

1. JOIN INTER PARES’ SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN

Follow our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages, and share with your friends what a real Extractive Industry Ombudsperson looks like!

2.  WRITE TO YOUR MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT (MP)

A personalized letter is worth its weight in gold. You can find your MP's coordinates online.

3. TWEET TO François-Philippe Champagne, MINISTER OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE

Help us convince Minister Champagne that it's time to make Canada Open for Justice by creating an Ombudsperson.
